Joseph Berardo, Jr. has a long and successful track record of building and leading highly talented teams that drive substantial growth in the healthcare services marketplace. He currently serves as CEO of Carisk Partners, a complex-care management and behavioral health business focused on the workers’ compensation, casualty and group health marketplaces.
Prior to Carisk, Joe and the Managing Partner of Grant Avenue Capital partnered together on an investment in MagnaCare, an innovative regional managed care company primarily serving self-funded organizations in NY, NJ and CT. During his tenure at MagnaCare as President and CEO, Joe developed and executed a strategy that drove double-digit increases in both membership and earnings and ultimately led to a successful exit in 2010. Joe started his career in healthcare services with U.S. Healthcare in 1990. He subsequently held leadership positions at Mount Sinai Health System, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Multiplan. Joe has authored numerous articles related to health plan strategies for carriers, providers, employers and advisors and has been recognized for his vision and leadership by Crain's NY Business “40 under 40” and NJBIZ “Power 50 in Health Care”.
Joe holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University.
